Therapy for the people who
keep holding it all together.
From the outside, it may look like you’re managing everything just fine. You show up for work, take care of your family, meet expectations, and keep moving forward. But underneath it all, you may feel anxious, emotionally exhausted, overwhelmed, or disconnected from yourself.
When you’ve spent so much energy taking care of everyone else or trying to meet impossible expectations, it can be difficult to recognize your own needs. Therapy offers a place to slow down, make sense of what’s been weighing on you, and begin creating healthier patterns that support both your well-being and your relationships.
“When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.”
— Viktor Frankl
Meet Crystal
Crystal Sombatphibane, LCSW, LMSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Master Social Worker with more than 22 years of experience helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges.
Throughout her career, Crystal has worked across a wide range of clinical and community settings, including child welfare, foster care, the court system, community supervision, homeless Veteran services, and individual psychotherapy. These experiences have given her a deep understanding of the many ways stress, relationships, life transitions, and difficult circumstances can affect emotional well-being.
Crystal believes meaningful change begins with understanding yourself more fully. She helps clients slow down, recognize patterns that may be contributing to anxiety, depression, or emotional overwhelm, and develop practical tools that foster lasting growth and resilience.
Clients often appreciate Crystal’s calm, collaborative style and her ability to create a space where they feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported without judgment. Together, therapy focuses on building greater self-awareness, healthier coping strategies, and confidence in navigating life’s challenges.
Crystal provides secure telehealth therapy to adults throughout Michigan.
What It’s Like to Work With Me
→
We’ll move at a pace that feels right for you.
Therapy isn’t about rushing to find the “right” answer. Crystal believes meaningful change happens when you have the space to slow down, understand your experiences, and process them in a way that feels manageable. Sessions are collaborative, thoughtful, and tailored to where you are in your journey.

A Place Where You Don’t Have to Have It All Together
Many of Crystal’s clients spend so much time caring for others or managing life’s demands that they rarely have a place to simply be themselves. She provides a supportive, confidential environment where you can talk openly without fear of judgment, explore difficult emotions, and begin making sense of what’s been weighing on you.

Niche & Ideal Client
Crystal works with adults who often appear to have everything under control on the outside while privately struggling with anxiety, stress, burnout, or self-doubt. Many are balancing demanding careers, family responsibilities, relationship challenges, or major life transitions, leaving little time or energy to care for themselves.
She also enjoys working with adults navigating complex family relationships, grief, chronic illness, pregnancy or postpartum changes, and the emotional impact of significant life events. Many of her clients find themselves caught in patterns of people-pleasing, perfectionism, or putting others’ needs ahead of their own, leading to feelings of exhaustion, guilt, or emotional overwhelm.
Crystal believes meaningful change comes from slowing down, increasing self-awareness, and understanding the patterns that shape how we think, feel, and respond to life’s challenges. Together, therapy focuses on building self-compassion, strengthening emotional boundaries, improving communication, and developing practical tools that support lasting emotional well-being.
Her approach is collaborative, supportive, and tailored to each client’s unique experiences, strengths, and goals. Rather than offering one-size-fits-all solutions, Crystal works alongside clients to help them create meaningful changes that feel realistic, sustainable, and authentic to who they are.
Therapy Approaches
Crystal takes an integrative approach to therapy, recognizing that no single therapeutic approach is the right fit for every person or every situation. Therapy is tailored to each client’s unique needs, goals, personality, and life experiences, creating a collaborative experience that feels both supportive and purposeful.
Her work combines evidence-based practices with a compassionate, client-centered perspective, helping clients gain insight into their experiences while building practical skills they can use in everyday life. Whether you’re working through anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, grief, or a major life transition, therapy is designed to help you better understand yourself while creating meaningful, lasting change.
